Imagine Airbnb, but for your taste buds - that's the concept behind the app I've been cooking up, right in the heart of the Basque Country. An appetite for discovery leads the way in this digital adventure, where local flavor is brought to life in a mobile app that looks like a visual feast. The experience? As smooth as gliding over the sea waves of Biarritz, whether you're browsing on your smartphone or on the web. I sewed an invisible but indestructible link between the app and the existing WordPress, so that every swipe, every press is a promise of simplicity.

Technical development: Precision and versatility

React Native was my deliberate choice for the creation of the app, as it enables the development of a single code base that deploys indiscriminately on iOS and Android, ensuring a presence on all mobile platforms with formidable efficiency. The architecture is completed by a REST API developed in Node.js, designed to synchronize data seamlessly with the WordPress database. From user profile management to reservation systems, every component has been carefully integrated to guarantee consistent reliability. In this way, the application mirrors the structure and rich functionality of the website, ensuring consistency and fluidity between the two environments.

The ups and downs of code

It wasn't a cakewalk. I had to balance my wits with a temperamental WordPress, full of plugins without APIs. Recreating these feats of magic in my own Node.js API? A tall order, met with panache. Understanding the grimoire of plugins, then translating it into a universal language, so that the user experience is as authentic as your favorite country dish. No stone was left unturned when it came to notifications, reservations and the rest. The magic happens, without the user suspecting the artist's work.
